What is the best antivirus/spyware/adware protection on the market? Not online.? Bought Norton Security Protection, but still getting stuff as far as spyware, adware and so on. I have a pretty good idea that there are better viruses that overcome some protection. Need some good solid advice and answers folks! What ya got?!
will buying an antivirus software such as Norton Antivirus remove spyware, adware and pop ups from my computer My computer seems to be infected with spyware. The bar at the bottom sometimes disappear and reappear. I have done a saf scan with Microsoft but at the end the problem remains. Right after the problem appeared, a program offeing to fix it pops up, it's called WinIFixer and recommends me to get it. I don't know what to do I have been thinking of going and purchasing a antivirus software from the store, but will that help remove the problem?
What is the most decent Antivirus/Spyware/Adware oriented software/program that will rival Norton/Trend Micro? I was recently swarmed with a severe malware oriented virus that no matter how many spyware/antivirus oriented programs/software I bought like Norton Antivirus (which I was told for 80 bucks is crap) but I guess I went with the old adage I get what I pay for and then I bought Trend Micro (was also told by the best buy sales associate that it rivals NAV) but it still didn't help. So I pretty much stripped the 5 year old HP Pavilion desktop that I had back to factory settings, knock on wood the icons are ridiculously HUGE but its been 3days and I haven't had a whiff of pop up/spyware crap come my way (yet), though my Windows XP was restored to factory settings. So what can I install on this system so I don't end up with another Vundo/malware oriented Trojan. I don't want to install my NAV Antisecuirty software pacakage b/c I was told it was crap & now I can't seem to trust the generic TrendMicro, so now what do I install so this computer combats any/all update troublesome viruses Thnx

Will an AntiVirus get rid of spyware/adware infection? On my desktop background is says, "Your computer is in Danger! Windows Security Center has detected spyware/adware infection! It is strongly recommended to use special antispyware tools to prevent data loss." I am scanning my files with Norton AntiVirus right now, & i'm afraid that it won't get rid of the infected files.
Spyware/adware antivirus?!? Really confused! Whats the difference between spyware and adware? Whats a really good anti virus scan that gets everything? I have tried loads, but their manual ones where i have to click every little thing it comes up with. Is there a good one that I can download and just scans and i can leave it and carry on in the background, then you click to repair it and it just does it!! spyware/adware/antivirus question? I am running AVG Anti-virus free edition, as well as scan with Crapcleaner. Anything else I can do to protect myself? any reccomendations??? Avg and Crapcleaner have been really good so far!

how did the makers of antivirus software know the new viruses,trojans,worms,spyware,adware releases each day? for example i will create a virus today, are they going to know it? This is just an example.
Now yahoo toolbar has Norton Antivirus. it detects spyware and adware, but when i press remove it wont go away dont see the point in the Norton Antivirus program if the adwares and spywares are not removed (even though i pressed the button)...am i doing the whole thing wrong?

Antivirus, Spyware, etc Help!!!!? Hi there. I’ve recently purchased an Hp laptop. That meant I had to buy Anti-Virus and Anti-spyware and all that stuff that protects my laptop. The people at Bestbuy recommended TrenMicro Antivirus 2008 and Webroot Spy Sweeper. I didn’t take them out of the boxes and I still have the receipt so I can still return them. I need info on where I can get Anti-Virus, Spyware, Adware and all those stuff that will protect my computer for free. I’ve tried downloading some antivirus stuff from the internet. But it usually gave me trials and I don’t want that stuff. I want stuff that I just have to download once, install, and never have to worry about my laptops security. I also don’t want stuff that slows down my laptop. That is why I didn’t install trend micro yet because it said 1gb memory is needed. Also tell me the stuff you use. Thanks a lot.
How to get rid of Spyware, Adware and Malware? I used some spyware removal such as "spyware begone" "spyblocker" etc but still I get popups and my norton antivirus keeps alert me spyware threats. I just downloaded "hijack this" and tried to get rid of the malware but still I get popups. Is there any other better software or does anybody know how to use that "hijack this" software properly?

Trojan, adware and spyware help? Somehow my laptop got infected with 7-10 trojans and a bunch of spyware and adware and i think 1 worm virus. I have Spybot and SuperAntispyware and i ran them twice in safe mode, and they deleted them, but when i rebooted my computer I noticed that it is still infected an my Antivirus (Norton) didnt detected the viruses. Do I need to format my laptop or is there another way to get rid of the spyware/adware/trojans? Thanks
spyware n adware attacK!!? got hit w/ spyware,adware.software.got thru norton antispy programs n got infected.....programs got installed on my desktops n even have a different background theme installed ..with a red toxic symbol. saying..ur privacy is in danger!!.managed to remove most of it...but can not access I.E. hompepage..gets blocked w/antivirus saying it is a security risk ...want to know if i uninstall internet ex.plorere n then reinstall it ..if it will solve the problem n go back to default setting???(url on home page is not the same as before)..thx for any info!!...
Despite all antivirus and spyware sweeps I have a "screeching laugh" intruder on my computer. How can I erase? I work on an HP1410, WIndows XP, cable modem, online all the time. I have scanned with Norton Antivirus, Webroot Spysweeper, Lavasoft Adware and AOL antispyware.
Good internet security suite or antivirus? I'm not going to ask for the "best" because I'm sure everyone has their own opinions on what they use or what not. I bought Kaspersky Internet Security Suite 7.x a while ago, and then it told me my key was on the blacklisted (I didn't even know what it meant for a while and it kept coming up). I asked for my money back and never got a response. I wasn't surprised. However I was unhappy since it was a very good suite to use. And now since I don't have it, I'm not sure what to get. What I wanted to know is what people recommend. But here's the thing.. my computer only has 512MB ram as of now and Zonealarm's Internet Security Suite tends to be very bloated and slow on my computer. I prefer a good antivirus/firewall/spyware/adware removal program that uses very low RAM like Kaspersky does and works well. Does anyone have any recommendations? :)

How to delete adware/spyware? How do you delete spyware easily without using antivirus software, windows defender, or any of that other crap. Is there a way to just delete them into the recycling bin? How do u get rid of spyware/adware, any recommendations?
Best anti-virus and adware/spyware software combo for this laptop? Can someone please!!! tell me once and for all the absolute best combination of free software I can use on my grandmother's laptop? Let me explain first. I've already visited what feels like thousands of pages for advice and none seem to agree on any one combo. Part of the problem is that her laptop is a presario v6000 with only 478 mb of aval. ram. So brand new with all unecessary stuff disabled, it's still running at 64% physical memory. I just need a decent free antivirus and a spyware program that don't use much memory and are free as she doesn't have a dime left right now to afford anything else. That includes upgrading the ram right now. The vista program is the vista basic 32 bit os. Any help would be appreciated right now as I am going out of my mind with this and just want to get her set up so she can enjoy the internet.

What was this!? virus/spyware/adware?? I have a macbook with no antivirus/antispyware/adware program on it and yesterday I clicked a link and thought it was harmless and it installed some .wmv file on my mac and some mail in my outbox. All these boxes popped up and I finally deleted the outbox mail and the files it installed myself but I am not sure I got everything. Should I be concerned? And What do you think this could of been?? Now my computer seems to be working fine and is not showing any symptoms of a virus or anything.

SUPERantispyware, ccleaner, housecall, AVG antivirus work very well. and after using them system becomes 99% secure but can any one give any adware detecter tool which can even prevent it from being installed or in other words when ever any web page, software, pop ups, or page infected by it , or page containg these, try to infect the system , imediately at that time , tool removes it and notify me, that such adware found and removed. means while surffing , it automatically detect and remove adware, spyware. and it must be Freeware too thanx...
good antivirus antispyware combo? I have Norton Anvivirus and it SUCKS I obviously have a whole bunch of spyware on my computer and most likely come viruses and it won't detect them. Your computer is in danger! spyware/adware infection..HELP!!!? it all happened when i tried to download a crack file..it infected my comp! i have 3 problems i need to solve. 1.my desktop background is now all black(altho desktop items are present) with a message at the bottom saying 'Your computer is in danger! Windows have detected spyware/adware infection etc'. 2.also i keep getting a message in the form of a balloon all the time saying 'your computer is infected! windows has detected spyware infection. you need specific spyware tools etc' 3.the other problem is, when i click ctrl+alt+del an error message says 'Task Manager has been disable by your administrator'..now im sure my administrator hasnt disabled anything, i think its the spyware/adware/virus thats doing this. Finally, i have AVG Anti-spyware 7.5 and Avast antivirus installed. they detected several viruses and malware which i deleted, but still the above 3 problems are present. please HELP!!

I need help with my computer (spyware, adware, viruses)? I have around 100 viruse/adware/spyware type things on my computer. Normally, my security programs would take care of this, but now they seem to be attacking themselves instead of the software that I don't want! I tried installing Windows AntiVirus Pro 2006, but that keeps getting blocked by Symantec. When I temporarily disable Symantec, I can at least download the installer, but when I use it, it does NOTHING! What should I do?

how do i get rid of the trojan horse virus? i thought i had enough virus prot. adware-spyware pops up? I have done everything from deleting files to deleting cookies to running norton antivirus. i'm totally lost, is the computer a lost cause now? whats the best FREE firewall antivirus/anti spyware software? after recently having to reformat my computer because norton let LOADS of spyware through, i was wondering if anyone knows a better free alternative to use? we are running xp home adition. i am still baffeled why this happened, as norton has usualy been good for me for catching viruses, but all of a sudden it let all this spyware through and there was nothing i could do. it was all up to date aswell. was free with BT, so hadnt run out or anything. but after this i do not trust it so an alternative to protect me from spyware adware viruses and a firewall would be great and i will remove my norton. please could i have your opinions please?

dumb antivirus/spyware question.....? can i run cox security suite antivirus and ad-adware at the same time? my computer is running extremely slow and has a lot of pop ups (all my pop up blockers are on!) so i did an antivirus scan w/ cox security suite and it found no infections, then i did a scan w/ ad-adware and it found 688 critical objects? why such a big difference? oh, and one of the pop ups i keep getting is critical notice i think from micrsoft or somewhere telling me personal info is being viewed from my computer, would I like a free scan or to download the program? also someone told me to try AVG, but can I do that w/ cox antivirus and ad-adware?
adware/spyware? i took my computer and got it fixed last week for adware and spyware that was on it...now that i have it back, i keep getting a balloon saying that it is infected with Trojans...i have antivirus software but it will not "heal" some of the specific trojans...what can i do to get rid of the faux security popups that keep happening whenever my internet is on and what can i do if anything to get rid of teh existing trojans on my comp?
