trojan/malware- unable to install any antivirus or spyware remover? If I run IE (to check my yahoo mail b.c. I have beta), I get pop ups. If I run Mozilla Firefox, the trojan/virus/malware kicks me off the net and closes the browser. I am unable to install superAntiSpyare or Ad Aware 2008. I have windows xp with service pack 2. Also, I tried to use system restore and tried to create my own restore point. I did it twice and when I hit undo, I can no longer get my desktop back up in regular mode. I have to boot in safe mode. i have spyware i think but cant get rid of it? i got this spyware thing recently. at random moments, it will have pop ups and it is a custom notification on my toolbar on my desktop. its always flashing, tellin me i have a virus/spyware, when really, the virus/spyware i have is that notification thing. the pop ups tell me to buy their anti virus programs. dont tell me to download antivirus/spyware remover software. thats one of the problems... i already had norton antivirus, it has always worked, its up to date and renewed, its fine, its norton's best program but when i do full system scans with it, it says i have NO viruses/spyware when i obviously do because of the pop ups and notifications. so...i download some other trustworthy scans and anti virus programs and they are the same thing! they tell me i have no viruses or spyware or threats. the two programs i downloaded are AVG and Lavasoft. tell me how to get rid of this virus or spyware i have. but DONT TELL ME TO DOWNLOAD ANOTHER ANTIVIRUS/VIRUS SCAN PROGRAM. i have asked this question be4 but the only thing ppl tell me are "oh, download this program and use this, its better" ive tried 3 programs already and they all say i have no virus. but i do! i get pop ups becuz of this notification bar. how do i get rid of these pop ups and notification button. dont tell me to geta pop up blocker or anythign becuz i have tried 4 of those too. and i have a program that blocks spyware. nothing works!

Free spyware remover? So, somehow I have spyware on my computer. And it is clearly messing with it.. it is even effecting how the internet runs. I was wondering if anyone knew of any FREE spyware removers/antivirus that can FULLY clean and remove the viruses off my computer? How do i remove the background and remove the AntiVirus XP 2008 I removed the freaking virus from my computer but that stupid anti virus XP 2008 crap wont get off my computer ITS NOT USE FULL AT ALL it i check my computer with 3 programs and they all came up with similar results which were 200-250 infected files which i removed then i scan it with antivirus xp 2008 and it says i have 2700 infected files which is a load of crap and it just wants me to be the freaking software when i dont need to. Has anyone gotten/removed a fake spyware/virus remover program on their computer called "Antivrus XP 08"? Problems include: A screen saver that fakes a continuous reboot and fail to reboot until a key is pressed. At which time the desktop is brought back up. A continuously running fake program that says your computer is infected with over 900 separate viruses and the "program" is always on the toolbar When trying to go to a URL web page, a block appears stating that a great risk of mass virus infection is immanent, but its obviously a fake because it says to continue safely you must download "Antivirus XP 08" which is obviously fake seeing as how I already have a legitimate, active and up to date antivirus/spyware program. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? I've tried removing the program. Running it through my up to date antivirus/spyware program. Erasing all of my online saved data. And moving it to the recycle bin.

Spyware Problem? I was on the net the other day and for some odd reason my wallpaper changed. The original wallpaper was a waterfall and this new wallpaper changed into a blue background and had a message in the middle of it. "Warning! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer." I've done that and still nothing I can change the wallpaper but as I start it up again it changed back to that. Plus, when I go to properties I can't see my wallpapers or screensavers. So, can anyone help me out here. Cant get rid of spyware? my computer was infected with spyware almost a week ago and i have tried everything to get rid of it. The background on my computer is a blue screen with a box that says "warning, your computer is infected with spyware. Add a antivirus or spyware remover." Ive tried ad-ware which didnt work that well. now i haveSuper anti-spyware which scans really fast and works well at removing them however after i remove the infections the come right back. I have done the scan in safe mode and even that didnt work. I used this other thing "clean up something" that i downloaded as well and that works too but still when i turn on my computer a lilttle box pops up that says "set display mode failed". at most my computer runs fine but when it is idle for minimun of 2 mintues this blue screen pops up and says remove newly installed programs or turn of BIOS and something else. What do i do to completely remove the spyware? ive also tried a system restore but it will not allow me to restore my computer before todays date.
Virus/Spyware - I lost my administrative rights.? I need help. I have two laptops... the one I normally use has a virus/ or spyware infection. It has a blue and yellow desktop that says "Warning! spyware detected on your computer! install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer." I was asked to install this certain one because it said "we noticed your computer is going slow so this will help blah blah" well I think it was fake. I have since then done my own scans with spywaredoctor. the administrator right being taken away is not allowing me to change settings... it won't even let me "alt ctrl Delete" at one point it told be there was another dos running and that I could terminate the process.. Wtf, Spyware!!?? Ok, so heres the situation: Somehow, I got spyware so I used both Spybot and AVG to remove them. Despite that, when I start the computer my background changes to a blue screen reading, "Warning! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer." Not only that,a message says I'm missing a script file thats supposedly located at C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp\.tt7.tmp.vbs I scanned this many times with AVG and Spybot and the blue screen and the missing file message kept on appearing whenever I start the computer. Someone help cuz its ticking me off! Also, I cant access my desktop background and screensavers on the right-click and going to Options. The tabs just vanished!

Spyware problem. Blue wallpaper with yellow box in the middle. How to get rid of it? I haven't turned off my computer for a while, because I turn it off by putting it on hibernate. Also, a program called "Real Music Ringtones" kept randomly appearing on my desktop, when I didn't even do anything. I did so, but after it finished restarting, I was left with a blue wallpaper with a yellow box in the middle that said "Warning! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer." Also, another program was instantly downloaded into my program called MalwareProtector2008. I had no idea how it got on, but it said i had 211 threats or something and kept trying to make me buy the product which I was skeptical of. I ran some more scans, and there were a few bugs which I removed, but no change was seen. How can I get everything back to normal?

" I have AVG anti virus and firefox if that helps at all. but whenever i scan my computer for virus's w/ the AVG my computer restarts and the blue wallpaper is still there. My wallpaper has changed telling me that Spyware was detected on my computer? Apparently while I was gone, a family member installed something they weren't supposed to. Now everytime I start up my pc and my wallpaper/background changes to this blue wallpaper and in the middle it says "Warning! Spyware detected on your computer" and then to install an antivirus or spyware remover. There was this weird antivirus already on my computer that kept popping up in relation to this and it wanted me to buy it. So I deleted that (I still have an antivirus on my pc). A few seconds after starting my pc, a screensaver will take control and tell me that my computer has a problem and needs to be rebooted, but it's not actually doing it. This is really annoying because now I can no longer locate the screensaver tab in my background's properties and I cant change my screensaver back to a normal one. I ran spyware removers and an antivirus, I deleted a bunch of bad files, but I still have this problem on my pc, can anyone help me?

I am aware that this is "fake" it is incredibly annoying claiming that I have 714 viruses lol I just really want to get rid of it! I have a blue wallpaper on my desktop that says "Warning, spyware has been detected on your computer". I used to have the problem with the Window-eating black bug "screensaver" but I searched in my hard drives and found the file "blackster" and i deleted it. But thats not my problem. My problem is I went to my display options to delete the blue "Warning!! Spyware detected on computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover!" wallpaper and it said "ctfmonb". I searched it on my hard drives and found it and deleted it. But for some reason, it is still my desktop background. When i try to set a new wallpaper by right clicking on a picture and selecting "Set As Background" , it says "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." I ran SUPERAntiSpyware but that didn't get rid of it either. I need help!

My computer has a nasty spyware infection. What do I do to make sure the infection is properly/fully removed? I want to browse worry free and I don't want anyone to have my personal information. I have some sort of spyware on my computer it only affects my web browser. How can I get rid of it? I've tried Norton AntiVirus and Adaware Spyware remover. I use Firefox and Internet explorer as my web browsers and they are the only thing on the computer effected by this. I don't really know how to discribe the problem except that it suddenly stops responding and sends me an "send" "don't send error report" message. If I do run an Adawar or Norton scan it does solve the problem but only for a day or so. HELP!!! I've asked every computer savy person I know and no one seems to have an explaination.

BAD Spyware attack? PLEASE HELP. I have a bad virus. It seems to have appeared around the same time as some annoying "spyware and antivirus program" that had some little flame as it's icon. •I get these annoying as hell popup windows that open in IE. They are in disguise as legit Windows alerts, but usually when I hit the red X to try to close it, it opens more. •I get porn popping up too. I do not appreciate this very much. •It "suggests" at least 3 types of "spyware removers". They are: Virus Ranger, Antispy KIT, and WinSecure Antivirus. (Possibly more, I can't keep track). •I also get this little icon in my system tray that is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle. Sometimes it spawns these bubbles that say stuff like "System performance monitor: Warning" and "System performance slowed down by 47%. Internet Connection speed decreased by 39%. Question about Antivirus software & my current Norton software? Warning: I'm a little slow on the tech-y side of things.. I'm really worried there's something creeping around on my computer and want to download Avast since I'm surfing the internet unprotected right now. My only concern is that my computer's already running an expired 90 day trial of "Norton Internet Security," and I read that it's bad to have two antivirus programs running at the same time. Do I need to just altogether delete Norton Internet Security and then download Avast + a spyware remover? If I DO need to delete Norton, how do I do that? I am having a problem with my screensaver, help? Yesterday I noticed my screensaver stopped working. I know how to turn it on, set the time and the saver itself but it won't start. YourPrivacyProtector/Adware Remover 2007 virus. How do I get rid of it? I have this really annoying virus on my computer. I tried everything to get rid of it. Ad-Aware 2007, AVG Anti-Spyware, Ewido, Norton Antivirus, I tried it all and it still isn't being removed from my computer. The virus is very critical. I get pop-ups like crazy and they're all telling me to download "YourPrivacyProtector" and "Adware Remover 2007" and what not. why applications do not load for some time when i connect to Internet DSL ; windows xp sp2? Using an ADSL broadband for more than a year. For last 6 months, I find that after I connect to the internet, applications take too much time to display (the applications process seems to be completed - as verified by Windows task manager (Proces tab). There seems to be some background application that takes control of CPU although in task manager shows normal CPU usage. Subsequently all applications appear suddenly as if releasd en-masse from a prison. Note that, applications that were started BEFORE connecting to internet, continue to work normally. There has been no change in the hardware and this thing (whatever it is), has krept through the net. To be sure, i have run all tools like CA antivirus, spyware removers, Registry cleaners etc.. PC works normally with WINDOWS 98. Hardware: AMD sempron 2400 ; ASUS AV7 400-MX motherboard, 256 MB DDR RAM; 40 GB rpimary hard disk & 120 GB slave HDD; SONY CD_RW / Firewire / Floppy / PCI modem WINDOWS XP SP2 Validated as genuine.

Spyware help? Can anyone suggest good software to remove spyware from an XP? I believe its a trojan that has infected the computer because 4 new icons popped up that i didn't put on there. They are called things like spyware remover etc. Every few minutes a thing pops up. Like your computer is vulnerable to viruses as your computer has sensed virus activities. And a webpage pops up every few minutes also. I ran norton antivirus but it didn't find anything. Also i downloaded Spyware doctor. It found many cookies and one trojan downloader, which i fixed. But the virus trojan thing, spyware is still on there. Also the computer runs very slow. Can anyone help me! I will be forever thankfull. P.S Could the software preferably be free but if it will fix my computer i don't care if i have to pay for it. Thanks for the help but could it possibly not be an online scanner. Becuase with one of the popups it says that it will redistribute its self through my email addresses. P.S i'm on a different computer that's connected to the internet now.
