Everytime I reboot and get online, my antivirus (also protects from spyware) warns me about Malware? So I push the button provided by the antivirus that says "terminate connection", or something related to that. I have done a complete scan of the computer, done a boot scan. However, it will still pop up everytime after a fresh boot. What can I do? I do not download anything nor have I intentionally. Also have Windows XP firewall and Windows defender. Spyware . . ? This link on Yahoo 360* took me to a pornographic website and even though I exited out immedeatly I now have two new links on my computer. One says "Antivirus Scan" and the other says "Online Spyware Test." I ran a Norton Antivirus scan on my computer twice but it hasn't seemed to detect them. Online 2008 Antivirus pop-up? There's a continual pop-up that asks me to use a certain "Online Antivirus 2008"...but I obviously know it's spyware. I've looked up questions to the same problem, but everyone else with the same problem was using a Windows operating system. I'm on a Mac and I'm using Safari when this pop-up comes up. There are various programs to remove this spyware, but the only programs I've found are for Windows, not Macs. Any suggestions? I do have Windows installed as a partition on my Mac. When I go into Windows' Internet Explorer, I never get this malware pop-up. Any ideas?

My Norton Online antivirus seems to be allowing downloader virus then telling me it blocked it after I have it I bought Spysweeper yesterday but I am still getting Internet Explorer windows opening without warning. Usually you get a small window first saying how you have spyware and need to click here to get their software. How do I get rid of this? "Internet speed monitor" was the first but it was supposed to be removed. I keep getting a popup from Norton saying it detected W32.TRATS!inf. It does this several times a day. It won't go away. I've done some of the items suggested. Found adware BHO_myway. Trendmicro was supposed to have removed it, but it was still in add/remove, I removed it. It may be the W32.Trats! that is causing this havoc! What do I do now?

With spyware - can people see what you are doing online and then respond? My $50 piece of junk antivirus/internet security is not working - and when I try to download antispy stuff over the internet I get a bunch of popups of antispy programs or my computer crashes. Does anyone else have a slower Verizon DSL speed since Norton OnLine Protection replaced CA? This November I signed on with Verizon for one more year of their supposedly High Speed DSL Internet. When Norton Online Protection took over for Computer Associates, my computer is running slower than with CA. My computer keep telling me that I have viruses and spyware? I just put my new computer online and downloaded avg syware and antivirus, I also have ada-ware and spy-bot insalled but I keep getting notices that my computer is infected eventhough I have used all programs and scanned repeatedly. Is there anything else I can do. Also with every warning the same anti virus or spyware programs keep coming up and I am wondering if those sofhtware manufacurers have the virus in there to get you to buy the program.

How often is necessary to update antivirus software? I have an Internet Security Suite (anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-hacker, etc) installed onto my PC at home. It can be set to automatically receive updates every 4 hours, but is that really necessary? I just do regular email, surf the internet, and occasionally make purchases or pay bills online so it's not as if I'm doing anything incredibly high-tech. Is 4 hours too much or should I set it so I manually update it, something like every other day? Or how often should I have the Suite updated?

Has anyone gotten/removed a fake spyware/virus remover program on their computer called "Antivrus XP 08"? Problems include: A screen saver that fakes a continuous reboot and fail to reboot until a key is pressed. At which time the desktop is brought back up. A continuously running fake program that says your computer is infected with over 900 separate viruses and the "program" is always on the toolbar When trying to go to a URL web page, a block appears stating that a great risk of mass virus infection is immanent, but its obviously a fake because it says to continue safely you must download "Antivirus XP 08" which is obviously fake seeing as how I already have a legitimate, active and up to date antivirus/spyware program. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? I've tried removing the program. Running it through my up to date antivirus/spyware program. Erasing all of my online saved data. Spyware detected when signing in? When starting up my computer a large red window pops up, Warning, Spyware has been detected. The 2 viruses listed are adware.virtumonde and privacyremover.m64. How do you configure the settings of your antivirus and antispyware to allow Limewire to work? I recently installed Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D and Spyware Doctor and since then my Limewire is unable to connect to the server and cannot find a single file online. How to remove Spyware not cleaned by antivirus software? Can anyone help? I started by trying to download a codec for media player, clicked on the run button and Trend Micro started going nuts. So I cancelled everything but too late. So now I have this little shield that comes up indicating a system alert that tells me I have a number of spyware applications impacting the performance. To remove the unwanted spyware, it instructs me to click on the icon to download an up-to-date anti-spyware solution. I already have Trend Micro so did a complete scan, then a spyware scan which turned the computer off and now it won’t start unless in safe mode. In safe mode I went to the Trend Micro site and downloaded Housecall Online and did a scan as well. It told me every thing was clean, yet the computer still won’t start! So, I’m all out of ideas for what to do next to fix it, and still have a computer that won’t start up. Any ideas would be great. Thanks.

Antivirus for Windows ME and 98? Microsoft no longer supports these two O/S, and I’ve noticed that upcoming antivirus software doesn’t seem to include them either. Does anybody out these have either of these older O/S, and what do you plan on doing for an antivirus, and spyware for that matter? I was advised to check on freeware at Grisoft but found that they are only supporting these two for a short while longer; same with Avast. I’ve got ME on one computer; it’s obviously old but functions well and I had no reason to replace this unit. Thought of upgrading it to XP but have read some nasty stories about the problems that folks have had in that endeavor, and it also seems as if the simple XP upgrade isn’t available; it’s XP with a service pack, which will only go on top of a system already loaded with XP. I don’t understand why protection would no longer be offered to these two, even though they’re old, since it’s to no one’s advantage to have unprotected computers online picking up viruses and passing them on.

My computer is infected with a malware tarkmgr.exe. It shows in process list. I tried all anti-spyware and AV. I tried all the anti spyware and antivirus to remove this malware. I also tried all the tricks previously suggested in some yahoo answers. I tries to kill it, but every time i reboot the system and it reappears. I also tried all the online scanners but every time it reappears. I even stopped the system restore facility. I am using windows xp professional with symatech antivirus, spybot, windows defender.

I have BT Yahoo online protect installed but when I click on the silber shield then fire wall it always says there is no tarffic inbound or outbound and if I click to open the Firewall, AntiVirus or Anti-Spyware nothing happens. Computer>Need Help>{Please Assist!!!}? Ok. Check this out...my computer is like kinda old...well about 8 years old and has basically very little virtual memory..and is infected with spyware/viruses. I tried to download some new antivirus/spyware software from online but due to low memory..I can't even download anything. i need help spyware is on my computer? I had computer problems, wound up with several email and chat blocker spywares, family keylogger and lastly spyware.spyarsenal.log, I can't get that spyware arsenal off my machine, it was to the point I was hacked because an admin pw area came up. I fiddled around and got all off and rid of the admin pw problem but the arsenal remains. It was not detected on nortons, spyware blaster, avg, but it was on kaperski and arovax. what will remove it for good and is the most secure spyware protection and antivirus/firewall available I'd prefer not to have to try to order something online so where could I go to buy the program(s)?

Norton Antivirus is blocking my internet access? A few days ago I was doing something and received an alert "do you want to allow this program to access the internet?" I thought it was a virus so I set it to "always block". Now, I can no longer access the internet without disabling norton antivirus internet security first. I used to have the one Optimum Online offers for free "E-Trust Ez Armor" But it was very weak and could not detect many viruses at all.
