How does Verizon Yahoo Online Protection compare with other antivirus protection software? This is what I have installed right now and it keeps finding infected files and deleting them, but I wonder if another program would find the heart of the problem so these files would stop getting infected in the first place. It's removing the infected files, but doesn't seem to be removing the virus. It's called Win32/Relfeer.B The problem is that I've switched antivirus programs before and it's just such a big headache with programs not being able to work together and causing conflicts... Does this program not remove viruses? Is it limited in that respect that it will only detect and remove the infected files? What should I do...

Online 2008 Antivirus pop-up? There's a continual pop-up that asks me to use a certain "Online Antivirus 2008"...but I obviously know it's spyware. I've looked up questions to the same problem, but everyone else with the same problem was using a Windows operating system. I'm on a Mac and I'm using Safari when this pop-up comes up. There are various programs to remove this spyware, but the only programs I've found are for Windows, not Macs. Any suggestions? I do have Windows installed as a partition on my Mac. When I go into Windows' Internet Explorer, I never get this malware pop-up. Any ideas?
free online antivirus that actually works? My landlord got a new computer a few months ago, and I've been trying to help her with it. She won't pay for antivirus software (shes on a very limited income), and shes on the net. I'm concerned for the safety of her new computer. Is there a free antivirus program we can download? Or should I save my money and buy something for her from like BestBuy or something? I know that she will get very upset with me if I do buy something, so while she's away for the weekend, I was gonna try to find something that I can download for her. Any suggestion???

How good are online AntiVirus and AntiSpyware programs? AVG Antispyware, Bit Defender, SuperAntispyware, Computer Associates Security Advisor, etc. How well do these online virus scanners and antispyware programs work? Are they updated with the most frequent virus definitions as regularly as they become available? I'm just wondering if I should just stick to all of these online scanners (without installing any on my computer itself) and scan my computer fairly regularly with them. I don't download a ton of stuff that isn't from a legit place. I am very careful about what I download and make sure that it is what it is. I'm just wondering if anyone else out there keeps these programs off from their computer and just uses their internet equivalent? I could understand the important of having them installed directly on your computer, particularly for those who don't know much about the internet; or who download all kinds of weird things from unknown sources on the internet. Some things, such as Zone Alarm, I wouldn't mind keeping on my computer itself. It just seems senseless in the whole "update daily or weekly" approach, when it could be used online if the online programs are just as reliable and technically the same thing as the ones on the computer itself. Unless, of course, you got some weird virus that blocked you from having an internet connection. But even then...I keep backup copies of all of my important stuff, so that I could format and restore at any time, and not really lose anything.
My Norton Online antivirus seems to be allowing downloader virus then telling me it blocked it after I have it I bought Spysweeper yesterday but I am still getting Internet Explorer windows opening without warning. Usually you get a small window first saying how you have spyware and need to click here to get their software. How do I get rid of this? "Internet speed monitor" was the first but it was supposed to be removed. I keep getting a popup from Norton saying it detected W32.TRATS!inf. It does this several times a day. It won't go away. I've done some of the items suggested. Found adware BHO_myway. Trendmicro was supposed to have removed it, but it was still in add/remove, I removed it. It may be the W32.Trats! that is causing this havoc! What do I do now?
Do I have to update my AntiVirus everyday? How often it shld be? What is the effective free AntiVirus online? I am wondering if i could get viruses by downloading songs using Limewire. I scanned my computer, found Trojans and deleted 4, I noticed my cursor was busy, could'nt select anything.I restarted my computer, antivirus showed up.I could only click inside the antivirus box, but couldnt select any command on my desktop, the cursor was in a busy mode.
