nortons antivirus? how do i get into nortons antivirus and change it?
Do I have to uninstall my nortons antivirus if I install AVG antivirus? I have had nothing but trouble with my Nortons Antivirus so I am downloading AVG free scanner. Do I have to uninstall my Nortons or just disable it? I have until May of this year on my subscription. So far all of the answers have been very helpful. I am just waiting for the download to finish and then I will get rid of Nortons!~ It has been a hassle since the start.

Why does another screen come up after I sign into my yahoo mail? After I sign in it turns into a whole other screen. It says emachines with google ads that suggest I use all this ad ware or anti adware im not sure how it works. I think it might be spyware. I wish I knew more about computers. I Have a problem with my computer.I get not one ,but many pages loading up at the same time.Any ideas? I have been told that it may be a software conflict.I have nortons antivirus, winows messenger and yahoo, I have nero and I have incredimail and outlook. Why does my computer shut down ? How can i fix it ? I've had my computer for about 5 or 6 yrs, I installed a new harddrive about 2 yrs ago. About 2 months ago my computer started shutting down by itself, now when it shuts down it makes a funny beeping sound and the green light on the p.c. stays on but the monitor light turns yellow and the screen is completely black or says NO SIGNAL. At first somebody told me it could be the fan, so i installed a stronger fan and cleaned out the harddrive to start from scratch. The computer was good for about 2 weeks and then started shutting down again. I checked on the RAM cards and they seem to be fine. The computer does not have any set time that it turns off, sometimes it shuts down within an hour and sometimes it can take 5 hours. Lately it's been shutting down pretty quickly, its also been freezing on me wich is funny because the first time it wasn't freezing . I have Nortons Antivirus and Adaware but the PC don't stay on long enough for me to run a full scan. Time 4 a new PC ?
my nortons antivirus is blocking my steam games and causing my p.c to crash.? how can i make it so norton accepts half-life 2 to go through and still keep the bad stuff from getting in, there has to be some setting i can change. please. i really need to know i just went out and bought the orange box to find out half-life 2 and all the episodes dont work. :(

Does this sound like a virus? Ok its happened to me twice today. Ive noticed that the taskbar on my Windows XP computer just randomly happened to look like Windows Classic. When I click on start, the menu is fine however the bar isnt. Ive also noted that some of the search results Ive had on Google are slightly weird e.g. when I searched "How to be neat" it gave me things like "43 things" which I doubt are top searches. Ive got Nortons Antivirus 2005 as well as Ad Aware Personal. both of which are old editions. Ill also run a Windows Live Safety scan from the website to be sure. Any other suggestions? I dont really want to go out and spend loads of money on software, yet neither do I want to have a dead computer. What do u I think I can do? Is this just a normal problem? If u do want to know why I searched "How to be neat" its because I spilt ink all over my book today and I was told this week that my handwriting was the worst in my class... :@.
Can anyone tell my of an antivirus/firewall the really works? I have tried nortons, pc cillian, bit defender, panda and have always got a virus....I spend alot of time online and do alot of downloading...sometimes from underground sites..so far no antivirus has lived up to their own hype I always get some kind of virus or torjan and I read and follow the doc. for these programs... but end up having to reformat my hard drive again and again help!!!!

reformating it all? I had two defrent guys to reformat my pc and i hear that they found viruse or a virus in my pc, i had (Nortons antivirus) on my pc i wander if they say that they found viruse on my pc, could that be becouse (Nortons) didn't get all of the viruses and didn't remove them. When i scan the pc every month for viruses and worms at the end of the scan says no viruse or threats, so that tells me (Nortons sucks like i hear alot here that it's crap. So the question is, i have a 120 GB hard drive and i will delete the old partition for safty and create a new partition, so what do i do if i run into a viruse during formating or when deleting the old partition wips out the whole hard drive does that mean it will wipe out any viruses and threats. PS, does the format show the maximum size, and if anyone know this, what do i do if i run into any viruse or threats

Need small, free, frequently updated internet/virus/malware protection? I finally removed a malware virus on my pc. It took 4 differnet programs to finally get rid of it. Im tossing nortons. Which antivirus,spyware, and firewall programs use the smallest amount of memory, are preferably free, and have frequent updates. Dont want to have 4 spyware programs running at the same time.

Pc really slow since installing "CA antivirus". Is there any settings that need to be changed? it was so fast when it was only the trial version of Nortons that came with the PC. once it loads the first page its ok but just opening IE with google as a home page takes almost a min. any ideas?

i have been paying for nortons anti virus for the last 5 years and have just been told that AVG is better and? it's free. why would anyone pay for antivirus software when you could get it for free by using something like AVG free edition? does anyone know anything about these two because i'm confused and my 'friend' uninstalled nortons and now i have AVG instead. did she do the right thing?

How to get rid of a computer virus ? Comp. is only about 3 months old. Has the latest Norton Antivirus and Webroot Spysweeper and good cookie cleaner and so on. I thought it was basically virus proof. But I have been told I have a virus and it will cost $249.00 to repair. Computer is acting haywire and I don't know where to start. I have already reset system to a previous date but didn't help. Any advise ? How do I find anything out without taking it in ? Additional Details 1 minute ago Anytime I run Nortons or the SpySweep It says no threats or viruses detected. But the comp. is only running good for about 15min. at a time. Until now I have never even had to re-boot before.
need help finding an antivirus download that is free of charge and does not require a credit card? i tried mozilla foxfire and nortons wont run or install rather. i also tried CA through microsoft and it also wont download i tried doing a clean boot and nothing it wont clean or reinstall windows. can somebody suggest something i can do because i keep getting pop up windows saying that my computer is infected with viruses and trojan and spyware and adware and it drives me crazy always having to click on a window just to shut it down and continue what i was originally doing i ahve tried avg before and when i finished installing it i received a window that stated an access denied error was returned while attempting change a service. you may need to log on using an administrator account to make the specified changes

My Photos and Calender will not load in Yahoo.? I've tried to Refressh with no luck. I've tried to clear my cache in IE with no luck. They both use to work at one time but no more. what could be blocking my incredimail incoming and outgoing ports (110 & 25) I cannot send or receive emails.? I can get to the internet but I cannot send or receive emailI I have by passed my netgear router, and went straight to the internet, I have called my ISP and DSL tech support. and they cannot find the problem. This application has failed to start because RICHED20.dll was not found.? This message pops up when i install/uninstall some (not all) prograns. Programs include Nortons antivirus (the att free version), PC TOOLS spyware doctor (google pack version). These programs ron but wont open. They ate on the task bar and in program files: but not in the ad and remove programs list. Where do I get this file and where do I put it??? I have down loaded the file from two sorces and placed it in system 32 and I get the same results I downloaded the file and put it in WINDOWS/SYSTEM32 and have the same problem. I just tried to install adobe flash player and I get the same message.
None of the pages I go to update.? I always look at the Philadelphia Phillies webpage to look at highlight reels and stuff. But for a few sites everything isn't updated? It still doesn't have results from yesterdays games and shows yesterday's starting pitchers instead of today's? Also no write up's on the concluded games. When I go to the normal MLB page everything is fine. I can see today's scores and stuff. Also when I post a message on a forum and come back after visiting other pages my posts aren't shown.
