Antivirus Software?

Are store bought antivirus software such as Norton and TrendMicro more capable of handling viruses than free antivirus software such as AVG?

1. yes and no..... AVG specifically sucks but there are other free antiviruses that are better than norton and other paid ones...... like avast.. http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
