Antivirus software?
I have had norton antivirus on my computer for about 6 months and as a result the computer is taking a long time to load up and is slow in general. I deleted this program and have found that my pc runs a lot faster. Now i have AVG free antivirus software, is this suitable and does it provide a reasonable level of virus protection, thanks

- dlownload.com and get agv free.
- AVG provides good realtime virus protection, but you may want to have one addition antivirus program installed to provide a second scanner. BitDefender offers a free version that does not provide realtime virus protection, but will provide you with a good second scanning engine to keep your PC virus free. (http://www.bitdefender.com)
- I am most of my email friends use it also. I had a Norton took it off and put on the AVG. I recently tried a trial of the Norton 360, left it on one day. AVG has a good Anti-spyware program. It took out some malware, that I could not get out of my computer, with anything else. Use the AVG free antivirus and try the AVG Antispy also, you will be suprised what you find, I bet.
- You may want to give AVAST anti-virus a try. I have heard good things about it, and it seems to work well.
- The most widely used free anti-virus software is AVG from Grisoft which makes money by selling virus protection to small businesses. To promote this, it offers domestic users a very professional free version which allows regular updates.
