Antivirus Help
antivirus software?
is there a significant difference in how much more accurate or how much better paid for virus software like mcaffe or norton antivirus from free ones like avira antivir? if they never remove viruses then what is the point ? probabely the dumbest question ever. but i dont want to waste 5 more points so im putting it here. How do you give someone the best answer, i have done it before and now i dont know how lol

- The more you pay the better the software and the antivireses that are for free are crap they never actually remove vireses!!
- Sure. Go to the PcWorld website and search for "AntiVirus Review" This returns a list of virus packages and how they rank. The free ones are all near the bottom.
- Norton's has scored well in recent tests, but whether the cost as against free anti-virus programs is warranted you'll have to judge for yourself. I am not a great fan of Norton's and I do not currently use any commercial programs. All my anti-s are free: Avast; Windows defender, Spy sweeper, Spybot, Adware, Comodo Fire wall. Whatever you chose, it is vital they be kept up to date and regular sweeps made of your machine. And update Windows and make regular backups.
- I use AVG antivirus "FREE" and it great and it works I have had Nortons and other ones and AVG is the best and the bonus is its free
- AVG keeps my five windows and two macs clean and happy
