Antivirus Help

AntiVirus Software not working on my new Vista Laptop?

I have a new Acer Aspire 5100 Laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium that came with Norton Antivirus. But I don't like Norton because I download a lot of "risky" things, and it never seems to catch the virus like AVG does. So I uninstalled Norton hoping to just install AVG. But then after I installed it, it worked until I restarted my computer or exited after the initial loading of the software. I would get an error message like in these pics. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t205/Pyro_Uber/AVGISSUE.jpg http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t205/Pyro_Uber/AVGISSUE2.jpg I reinstalled it a few times but it still didn't work. I then tried different antivirus software but I got a similar error message. I am reasonably sure that I don't have a virus thats stopping this because I have scanned with AVG when it first loads up, but whenever I want it to load or any other antivirus I have to uninstall it and then install it again. I need Help.

  1. like a ton of other programs it probaly isnt compatible with vista.
  2. That would be my guess too. If you are using Win XP Anti-virus, you'll need to upgrade to the Vista version.
  3. remove all that you mentioned, reboot and install one.
  4. if you just complete a few quick tasks on this site they'll send you a sony laptop, completely free of charge!!
  5. GET MCAFEE ANTISPYWARE OR XOFT ANTI SPYWARE (IS THE 1 RATED)
  6. another good reason to update to vista
