Which is the best free antivirus software available on the net?
Please also mention how to get the antivirus software you suggest i.e. the website from where i can get it. Also, since we are discussing viruses, does downloading music cause virus threats?

- AVG its free, easy update, and no time limit...
- AVG is what I put on the majority of my client's computers. It can be found here: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/downloads-products/us/frt/0?prd=aff and yes, file sharing such as music downloading from sources such as limewire can give you viruses. You have no idea where the music originated thus the risk.
- Go to "Filehippo" and look around ~~~~~~~ AVG anti-virus 7.5 Spybot Search and Destroy Lavasoft Comodo Boclean They are all good --- and all free. Also consider getting Comodo for your firewall CCleaner is good to have Also ---- using Firefox may lessen your chances of getting hacked into(viruses,etc.--bad guys) Opera is another one along with Safari. Anything that you download into your computer can also carry "a virus". Be careful of who/what you allow to come into your "home". Just don"t "open the door" for anything and everything --- for you might be inviting the "wolf" to come in. Update the programs as soon as you get them --- and use them daily. Always update daily -- this is most important to do. If you use a P2P(peer-to-peer) program such as Limewire or Bearshare / Frostwire,etc. -- be advised to be careful in "where" you go , and what you download. Always have your virus programs updated and running before you go in ---then you might want to run ~~say Lavasoft afterwards --- for you are sure to pick up some "cookies" at the very least. If you see (on Limewire) several downloads that are the same size-- they may be the same (porn).Watch out for these ---- use your "common sense". Used correctly --- Limewire is a good program. I have heard others complain about it , but , in my opinion --- they do not set up proper security measures to begin with -- and frequent the porn sites with-out protection. +++Spock+++
